Serving Our Church & Loving Our Community
At Passion Community, we believe that Gospel-centered love and service is the overflow of discipleship and as such they are two of our core values. As believers we are called to not only serve one another but to also love our community through acts of service. Below are various opportunities that we currently offer for you to get involved and serve with us at Passion. When you have found an area you are interested in serving in, please click the button to the left to fill out a Volunteer Application. If you have any ideas of how we can creatively love our community please click the button to the right to let us know about them!
Volunteers in our Nursery (0 to 2) get the opportunity to shepherd and care for our littlest ones during weekend worship services. They check in and care for babies and toddlers.
PASSION KIDS & KIDS JR
Volunteers in Passion Kids (K through 5th) and Passion Kids Jr. (PreK) minister to our kids during weekend worship services through singing with the children, telling stories and teaching the truth of God’s Word. They check in kids, lead activities, and provide assistance to team leaders.
Volunteers in Passion Students (middle and high school) get the opportunity to build and foster relationships with students, ministering them through the teaching of Scripture, worship and intentional discipleship. They greet students, set up events, and lead small groups.
Volunteers in our College ministry organize events and build relationships with college students from the many universities located in Lynchburg. They encourage our college students to pursue community with the church body as well as connection with their peers.
Volunteers in Passion Groups either lead or host small groups (or both!) to cultivate gospel-centered community. They oversee the discipleship of 12-15 individuals, develop leaders, encourage non-partners toward partnership and encourage partners to faithfulness, and attend leader events.
Volunteers on our Connections team are some of the first people our attendees come in contact with at weekend services. They greet people before services, help people find seats, park cars, make coffee, work in Connection Booth and serve communion.
Volunteers on our Worship team use their gifts and abilities to minister to the church body through the expression of worship to the Lord through music. They lead worship at weekend services and other ministries and events throughout the week and sing or play an instrument in the worship band.
Volunteers on the Prayer Team are available to pray with people both during and after our weekend services. They also commit to praying for our church and our community together.
Volunteers on our Communications team help us testify to who God is and what He has done and is doing in Christ. These volunteers serve the body by creating and sharing stories that speak the truth about the way things are and proclaim the gospel through photography, videography, writing, editing and other areas. They also are involved with communicating upcoming events and opportunities both to our church as well as our community.
Volunteers on the Production team keep things running smoothly during our weekend services and at events so that our attendees have a great experience meeting with the Lord and the church. They run the lighting, sound, and put up slides for services.
