Project
Walk with the wise and become wise.
Proverbs 13:20
We love college students at Passion! In the Bible, Timothy had Paul, Elisha had Elijah, and Esther had Mordecai. The goal of the 13:20 Project is to provide college aged students with an older mentor to connect with and gain wisdom from during their time at Passion. Each college student that signs up will be paired with a mentor from Passion.
- Consistent Christ-centered check-ins with a mature believer
- In-person meetings at least once per month
- Virtual check-ins (phone call/text) at least once a week
- Godly discussion
- Purposeful relationship with a wise believer
- This isn’t a replacement for church. This will not necessarily be a Bible study, although it can include aspects of Bible study.
- This isn’t a replacement for counseling. While your mentor is eager to hear what’s on your heart, they are not professional counselors. Their role will primarily be providing a listening ear, pointing you to Scripture, and sharing from their personal experience and life wisdom.

Suggestions & Ideas
If you are new to Passion…
Consider going through a Bible study together. YouVersion offers free devotional and study guides, so that might be a great place to start. Another idea might be reading through a book of the Bible and looking at the study Bible’s notes. Additionally, BlueLetterBible and Constable’s Notes are wonderful online resources.
If you’re new to the area and looking for guidance as you start a new season…
Consider having your mentor share times when God has led them into new seasons of life. Talk about some key things they’ve learned/are learning. Maybe brainstorm some areas of growth and prayer, and the mentor can keep the mentee accountable each week. For example, if the mentee wants to invest in community, maybe she can reach out to 3 different clubs at school and then share how that went with the mentor at the next meeting.
If you’re looking for one-on-one Christ-focused guidance…
Discipleship doesn’t have to be formal or fancy to be life-changing! Mentors, bring your mentees into your worlds by inviting them over for dinner, or enter theirs by attending an event at their school. Talk with them about what they are reading in the Word, currently loving, and what they are currently wrestling with, and commit to lift them up in prayer. Model how to hold them accountable and pray for them consistently ! It’ll make such a Kingdom difference
