Our Story

Passion Community Church has been serving the Lynchburg Area for over 70 years, as a part of the Church of God. Originally known as Lynchburg Church of God, we moved to our current location on Breezewood Drive in 1981. In 2009, Pastor Mike became the Lead Pastor. The Lord has used his leadership, along with his wife, Kelli, to bring a new season of growth for our church.

Passion Community has transitioned from being a church of 25 people in 2009, to being a community of 350+ in 2019. Our desire is to see the City of Lynchburg transformed by the Gospel of Jesus, one person at a time. We believe that we are called to serve our community with the love of Jesus and we would love to invite you to partner with us in doing so. We believe that the church is meant to consist of people from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and soci-economic statuses. We are not a perfect church but with every person that partners with us, we come one step closer to the church that God has called us to be.
