Prayer

Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds.

Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known.”

Habakkuk 3:2

Prayer is the furnace

Prayer is not just one of the things that we do as a part of Passion Community, it is the most important thing we do.

We believe that cultivating a culture of Holy Spirit-led personal and corporate (meaning the church together) prayer is vital to partnering with the activity of God in our community. Prayer is the furnace in which we our hearts burn with passion to see the Kingdom of God and the will of God become reality on earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10).

At Passion our desire is to create multiple opportunities for corporate prayer throughout the week. Check out the current opportunities below.

Current Opportunities

Sunday Night Prayer

WHEN: Sundays @ 6 PM
WHERE: Passion Sanctuary

Come expecting to encounter the Lord’s presence as we worship the Lord and pray through Scripture together!

Three Reasons

At Passion, our corporate prayer times exist for three primary reasons: to fulfill the greatest commandment to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, to create a place to encounter the presence of the Lord in our community, and to be a launching point for intercession on behalf of our community. In each of these things, we desire to model the activity of worship and intercession around the throne of Heaven (Revelation 5; Romans 8:34) as we submit to the leadership of Jesus.

The Greatest Commandment

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

Matthew 22:37

We believe that our primary ministry as followers of Jesus is to love Him with our entire being. While this definitely includes honoring Him in the way we live our lives, we also believe that there is a specific call to love Him through direct prayer and worship, both in our private lives and the corporate expression of His Church at Passion Community.

A Place of Encounter

“…I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.

Psalm 132:4-5

We have been created and designed to live in the manifest (apparent, perceived, tangible) presence of our God. From the beginning, this has been our purpose as those created in the image of God. Our prayer environments aim to be places of re-connecting and re-establishing that focus in our lives, both personally and corporately. In everything we do, hosting the presence of the Lord is central.

A Place of Intercession

“…he [Jesus] is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 7:25

Because Jesus intercedes on our behalf (Hebrews 7:25, Romans 8:26), we desire to partner with His intercession on behalf of our community. We pray His words and we listen to His heart so that we can respond as He does to the brokenness in our world.
